Welcome to Phoenix Psychiatry
Phoenix Psychiatry is a family owned and operated business, proudly founded in 2022 by Anthea Mendez (CEO) with the belief that your mind’s health is just as important as your physical health. As the owner of Primary Prevention Homecare, since it was established in 2010, Anthea brings her accomplished business experience and expert health knowledge to the mental health field in Central Connecticut. We have 4 Offices: East Hartford, Glastonbury, Wethersfield, and Longmeadow, MA, as well as clinicians fluent in English, and Spanish. We have translators available if needed.
Our Mission
Phoenix Psychiatry’s work is driven by its commitment to promote mental health as a critical part of overall wellness, including prevention services for all; early identification and intervention for those at risk; integrated care, services, and supports for those who need them; with recovery as the goal.

About Us
Phoenix Psychiatry is a private, community agency providing outpatient behavioral health services to adults and children in the greater Hartford area. At the core of our work is a dedicated trauma informed clinical team whom employ evidence based therapeutic treatment modalities to cultivate healing, happiness and goal attainment.
At Phoenix, we are inspired and taught by our client’s courage and their grace. Through their example, we know that hard work can result in a healthier and happier life in the community. We feel privileged to help our clients reach their optimum of mental health and recovery from chemical dependency.
About the Owner
Anthea Mendez – Throughout a considerable part of my life I have been dedicated myself to the improvement of people’s physical health, and now I am fully equipped with competence and knowledge for the development in a new area. First, I would like to say that I consider myself highly honored to receive an opportunity to help patients with mental health disorders and improve their emotional well-being and life in general. I consider myself a skilled nurse practitioner due to more than 20 years of relevant experience in acute care, advocating for patient needs, and the provision of expert-level health care.
The Insipration
Anthea’s son, Phoenix, was part of the inspiration for the name for Phoenix Psychiatry. During her pregnancy and Phoenix’s infancy she started to build the idea of expanding Primary Prevention Homecare with a sister company specializing in mental health and self care.
